This first season of Last War Survival forms the foundation of the game with a new progression system, buildings and challenges. The necessary Proteins players receive in the Protein farm and the achievement of goals. To increase the level of the farms, again Mutant crystals necessary. The crystals are obtained by killing zombies for the first time (once per level) as well as through the Gene recombination and goals achieved.
Preserving resources with gene recombination
With the "Gene recombination" feature (found under "Season"), you can obtain important resources such as mutant crystals. A gene recombination is possible every other hour and up to 30 can be collected. To start this, you need six different genes, which you can obtain as follows:
Gen 1-3:
- Destroy zombies
- Vaccinating contaminated members
- Spread the virus
- Gene swap
- Radar missions
- Defeat the elite of the damned
Gen 4-6:

Curing and spreading viral infections
If your virus resistance to zombies is too low, you will be infected with the virus after the battle. An infection weakens your combat strength. If you attack and defeat a commander, small amounts of the virus will also be transmitted to your opponent. Your allies can detoxify you with their spy planes and receive gene fragments as a reward. However, you can also deliberately spread the virus to weaken an opponent and achieve objectives.
- To spread higher amounts of the virus, you can prevent allies from healing.
- After 100 virus stacks, your base will explode after a countdown. The explosion damages & infects other bases in the immediate vicinity.
