Level & recruit Last War heroes correctly

Leveling up heroes in the Last War Survival Game is one of the most important tasks. Only by systematically upgrading your heroes can you increase their combat strength and successfully lead your troops through missions, events and alliance battles. In this guide, you will learn how to level up your heroes efficiently and which strategies are worthwhile.

Level first troop with priority

The 1st troop plays a central role in Last War Survival and should always be a top priority. It is your Main squadwhich is used in almost all game modes - whether in the Campaignat Events, Boss battles or PvP battles. Since this formation is the most frequently active, it is worthwhile to best heroes, equipment and chips to invest.

With an optimally coordinated Hero combination and well leveled units you will achieve the highest damage output in the first troop and maximize your survivability at the same time. Later troops (2nd and 3rd formations) usually serve as a supplement or backup, while the 1st troop forms your strategic backbone and therefore always takes precedence in Upgrades, chips and equipment should have.

To improve a hero in Last War, you need certain resources. You can find an overview of the most important ones here:

Level up the rank, weapons and abilities of heroes

Every hero in Last War has Individual values and skills. Through the Leveling important attributes such as Attack, defense and health points (HP). You also switch on certain Levels new skills free or improve existing skills. This makes your heroes significantly stronger in battle - a decisive advantage, especially in PvP or event mode.

Increase the star rank of heroes

The rank of heroes in Last War can be changed using the Star upgrade (rank promotion) increase. Hero shards are used to make the hero permanently stronger. Each rank increase brings improved stats (Attack, Defense, HP) and usually bring new abilities with them. Five points are required for a full star for each rank advancement.

After a UR upgrade from Mason, Violet and Scarlett the costs double for star ratings 3-4 and 4-5.

Improvement of skills

The Leveling the skills in Last War is one of the most effective ways of Significantly increase the strength of your heroes. Every hero ability - whether active or passive - can be used by investing Skill medals which noticeably increases damage values, effects and buff durations. Unlocking a new star rank unlocks new skill levels.

The Skills of your heroes should be improved as evenly as possible. Although the combat power increases to a similar extent with each upgrade, the Costs for skill medals increase sharply with higher levels. Especially with the Leveling the heroes in troops 2-4 a balanced distribution is important - otherwise other commanders can increase their overall combat power much faster.

Level up equipment & weapons

As early as possible in the game, you should add your heroes to the 1st troop with SSR and then Equip UR equipment. Pass on SSR equipment that is no longer needed to the second troop and always dismantle SR equipment for resources in the equipment color. The aim should be to have all heroes in the Troops 1, 2 and 3 little by little to be equipped with UR equipmentto reach their maximum combat strength. Upgrading the UR hero's equipment requires different materials depending on the level:

Level 1-40: Gold & improvement ore
From level 40: Gold, improvement ore & dielectric ceramics
Increase in weapon level: Improvement ore, dielectric ceramics & blueprint

Unlock exclusive weapons

At the beginning of the Season 1 you can use the exclusive weapon to activate Kimberly. The initial activation requires Hero-specific exclusive weapon fragments and significantly increases the hero's damage. For each additional upgrade Universal weapon fragments required. The respective fragments are available as offers in stores or in the Black market. Over the course of the game, you can gradually unlock special weapons for the following heroes:

Season 1: Kimberyl, DVA & Tesla
Season 2: Murphy, Carlie & Swift
Season 3: Marshall, Schuyler & McGregor
Season 4: Lucius, Adam & William

You should level up these heroes first

Strong heroes are the key to victory in Last War. Tank heroes form the front line, absorb damage and protect the team with solid defensive capabilities. Rocket heroes provide massive area damage and are ideal for quickly eliminating rows of enemy troops. Airplane heroes shine with their high mobility and precise attacks from a distance. You should therefore equip the following heroes with level highest priority:

Top 5 tank heroes:

Kimberly - Strongest armored helde with powerful area damage and high penetrating power.
Williams - Extremely robust tank, ideal for protecting the front line.
Stetmann - Offensive tank that deals damage to several opponents at the same time.
Marshall - Supporting tank with defensive effects and healing
Murphy - Solid defensive hero with strong team buffs.

Alternative tank heroes:
Not all heroes are available at the start of the game, so we recommend the following heroes as alternatives before they are available:

Mason - Defensive specialist with high stamina and damage reduction, strong against sustained attacks.
Scarlett - Well-balanced tank with a good balance of attack and defense.
Violet - Aggressive tank with strong counterattacking capabilities and high penetrating power against enemy front lines.

Top 5 airplane heroes:

DVA - Strongest aircraft attacker with high burst damage capability.
Morrison - Versatile air hero with good damage potential and useful additional abilities.
Schuyler - Focuses on targeted attacks against key targets in the opponent's formation.
Lucius - Defense-oriented aircraft hero who can act as a buffer for the team.
Carlie - Fast aircraft hero with critical damage and high mobility, perfect for aggressive air formations.

Top 5 rocket heroes:

Tesla - Powerful ranged fighter with high area damage and energy attacks, ideal for large-scale battles.
McGregor - Solid rocket hero with strong defense and constant damage output.
Swift - Fast attacker with a focus on high single damage, effective against aircraft.
Fiona - Versatile heroine with balanced damage and team synergies, strong in mixed formations.
Adam - Precise DPS hero with a high hit rate and strong penetration against enemy tanks.

UR upgrade and hero swap level voucher

In season 1 and season 2 you will receive a Hero exchange voucher and thus have the possibility to exchange the level of a hero 1:1 with that of any other hero. I.e. Tesla (Level 100) could e.g. with Moncia (Level 140) can be swapped. However, we recommend swapping heroes in season 2 at the earliest. In addition, in each season a UR upgrade of a certain SSR heroes possible, but this must be 5 stars have.

In Season 3 the voucher not only enables the level exchange, but also the complete star rank of a hero 1:1. It is therefore advisable to use the vouchers you have collected, especially for Heroes with rare UR shards like Adam, Morrison, Schuyler or Fiona to be used. A Strategic level swap however, can already in season 2 be useful.

Tip:
Heroes who have been UR upgrade (like Mason, Violet or Scarlett) have risen to UR rank still require the cheaper and more frequently available SSR shards. These heroes are therefore ideal for a 1:1 exchange with rare UR shards. For example, you can Mason quickly get back to the highest star rank with SSR shards and then fight a UR heroes exchange.

Recruit missing UR heroes & use shards efficiently

At the Leveling the heroes play Hero fragments (shards) play a decisive role. Their use should always be well considered and strategically planned - especially in the universal UR heroic shards and the Shards from selection chests.

Hero selection chest: With 10 shards you can activate a missing hero or choose certain hero fragments from 12 heroes.
UR-Heroes selection chest: Here you can select fragments of 7 different heroes.

During the course of the game, you can use 200 hero recruitment tickets 10 shards of a previously selected heroes receive. Always choose the hero whose shards you currently need the most - ideally one who not yet the maximum star level has reached and whose Fragments not in the normal selection box are included (e.g. Williams, Stetmann, Schuyler, McGregor or Lucius).

Tip:
If the five heroes in your first squad have already been upgraded to five stars, place your universal heroic shards preferably for heroes who none Selection chest are included - such as Adam, Fiona or Morrison.

The best tips for hero leveling

Focus on 3-5 core heroes instead of leveling them all at the same time.
Upgrade your headquarters quickly to unlock the maximum hero level as soon as possible.
Complete daily tasks and missions in daily games to earn as much hero XP as possible.
Take part in the Alliance Exercise (Marshal Guard) and special events to collect even more EXP cards.
Produce UR equipment for your 1st troop as quickly as possible.
Use the best equipment for UR heroes and change it as required.
Regularly dismantle unneeded SR and SSR equipment and use it to produce UR equipment.
Use hero synergies - combine troops and heroes with matching abilities.

Level up your threat (data training, components, combat progress and skill chip) to significantly increase the combat power of your heroes.
Primarily increase the hero level for UR heroes or initially SSR heroes.
Only use the hero exchange vouchers from season 2 or 3.
Convert SSR heroes into UR heroes with the voucher (from season 1)
